Ummm... I think it was a Google search, looking for a second hand telescope to purchase.
Have found this to be a superb site. And the people are so much more friendly than over at Whirlpool!

Googled various questions about equipment and eyepieces, trying to get started with amateur astronomy (most local club meetings occur on nights I'm working: Saturdays!). Wonderful forum though and extremely helpful.

Internet search (not sure if it was via Google or something else).
That was many years ago when I was trying to determine which first scope to go for if ever I had the chance to get one. The refractor vs dob dilemma. Time and money (or lack of them) always got in the way. But I'm retired now. Different scenario.

 definitely via a Google search. After 40 years in the wilderness I decided to return to one of my life's great loves, no not Felicity, Astronomy!
My search for a new telescope brushed Iceinspace and here I am.
Compared to the late 1960s where telescopes were more expensive in real terms and the choice limited today is a supermarket of scopes. Of course there is a down side, "which one?"

Think l was lead here via Cloudy nights forum which l am eternally thankfull for.
The apo guys on CN are a bunch of self fulfilling chest beaters. About as nice as l can put it.
The info, links and offers l received on my first post here on IIS were first class and undeniably friendly and constructive.
I'm here to stay and l hope l can contribute in any way.

My sentiments exactly. I have a lot to learn (aren't we always throughout life?). Also happy to give the knowledge i have and help out where i can. Like the help when you ask a quesrion. Someone is always happy to offer advice or an opinion.

Actually, it wasn't search results from Google. I use Ecosia as a search engine (for every search, they commit to planting a tree) and it came up there.
