Hi all.
Iv'e done plenty of wide field Astro-Photography, and am comfortable with how i do it.
I have just bought Geoffs ED80, and i'm hoping to do some images through that when it arrives.
I will be using my Pentax IstD.
What i would like to know is, what adaptor will i need to hook up the camera.
I have a Pentax T Mount adapter already which i use for afocal images, so will this be ok to use as well for prime focus images.
Will i also have to use the adaptor that i use which usually holds the eyepiece, or can i do away with this and just hook it up using the T Mount adaptor.

Sorry about all these questions, but i have never done this before.

Thanks leon......:help:

Hi Leon

I am asuming that the ED80 has a 2" focusser, so you will need a 2" camera adapter with a T-Ring thread on one end, readily available from Bintel and others and possibly a 2" extension tube or two, this will depend on where the camera comes to focus as to how far out you need to go.

The orion should have come with a 1.25" adapter with a T thread on the end. You can screw your camera ring straight to this.

Still say you should get 2", will cut down on vignetting.

Thanks for the response guys, maybe i'll just wait until the scope gets here, and see what it comes with, but the two inch adaptor sounds like it's the way to go.....I must be patient........I must be patient. :D
