T-Ring for Canon EOS Camera?

I have met a photographer who is interested in connecting his camera bodies onto my Newtonian Reflector for some prime focus photography. I do not have any expierence with prime focus and need a little assistance.

I have a Sky Watcher 12" GoTo Newtonian Dob with the standard Crayford style focuser.
He has two Canon cameras, a 5d Mkii full frame and a 1D Mk iv
Is the following Canon T-Ring from Bintel going to be suitable for connecting both camera bodies to the focuser of my OTA?

Yep that's what you need, plus you need one of these to screw into the T-ring which then slots into the focuser. http://www.bintel.com.au/Astrophotography/Adapters/Bintel-Camera-Adapter-2-/35/productview.aspx

EDIT: I don't know about Newts, you may need an extra/longer extention tube to be able to get focus

Yep, that's all you need to connect the camera to the focuser.

Not sure if it'll come to focus, though...

With that adaptor you will get vignetting with the full frame sensor.

You need a wide T Mount adaptor if you don't want vignetting around the edge of you photos.

Takahashi make a good one for the Canon. I ordered one from OPT a couple of weeks ago. Fairly expensive, about $100 for the adaptor + shipping.

It works well and has eliminated the vignetting that the normal sized T Mount caused.

It looks like I am on the slippery slope that is Astro Photography...even if it is with another photographers equipment. The learning curve looks steep.

Will this allow focus to be achieved more easily if the OTA is shortened a little?

Yep you should be able to achieve focus you'll just have to play around with it a little.

Yep, you can definitely attach a Canon DSLR to the FlexTube dobs. On my 10" model, I just have to retract the secondary mirror a few centimeters (ie don't extend the secondary all the way until the lock position) for prime focus. The coma's pretty bad on a full frame chip, though.

If you use a barlow/extender, I think you may be able to reach focus with the secondary in the normal visual position.
