Last night (Sat 1 Dec, 2012), I set up at the local dam to test the accuracy of my Dob's GoTo system. After the testing I did some afocal photography with the DMC-FT1 Panasonic Lumix compact.
Some of these photos have had big shifts in contrast to bring out the detail. It was an experiment to see how far I could push my current imaging setup.
1 McGavin's View sunset.
2 47 Tuc (NGC 104), 4th Mag globular cluster 16,000 light years away.
3 M42 Orion Nubula 1500 l.y. away and 20 l.y. in diameter.
4 M31 Andromeda Galaxy (NGC 224), 2.5 million l.y. away (you will have to take my word for it) ;)
5 Jupiter and four of its Moons - Europa, Io, Ganymede and Callisto being furthest out. 610.3 million km's from Earth.
6 Jupiter.
7 Waning Gibbous 17.31 day old Moon (93% disk illumination), 402803 km from Earth.
Thanks for looking.
