Hello to all,

I have just joined this forum after spending some time reading in the background. There are some very talented people here and I hope to gain experience from you all in someway.

A little about my background, I have lived in Adelaide all my life and since owning my own home have built a 2.4m domed observatory aswell as an 8" f/7 dobsonian. I hope to purchase the Skywatcher EQ6 with sky scan in the future aswell as an orion 80mm short tube refractor for guiding. When my wife lets me that is :)

Not much more to tell, visit the website if you want to know more :)

Hi Andrew(Astroman), Welcome. Have just come from your site. Well, you've certainly done a lot of work on both the newt. and the observatory. Well worth the effort eh, to have your own ob!

Iceman:

I was on the EQ6 mailing list and was pointed in this direction by someone called David. I don't know of anymore details. I had seen this site before, not sure how I got here, I may have been searching around google or something. I was trying to get as much info on the eq6 mount as possible.

I started looking at the lxd-75 SN10 by Meade but changed my mind after seeing that I wasn't really gaining much going from an 8" to a 10" and also the mount has a few problems which I wasn't sure about. I then saw the advertisement on the eq6, I like the look of it and by the looks of it, not many problems have been heard about the mount itself. Plus it can handle my scope with ease and enough room left over for adding more.

Andrew.

No Andrew,

Just do my own thing, based mainly on what I have gathered from here.

If you live in Paralowie, I am on the northern side of the reserve and my dog loves your fence! 5 minutes walk?

Welcome Andrew, yet another South Aussie. We should all get together and have a viewing night some time soon, like the folks in the eastern States. I know that EXFSO might be interested, Gadget and Myself. There is also Parsec, Jackenau and yourself. Might make an interesting night. What do you think Guys are you interested?
