Image Of The Week
The Trifid Nebula (M20)

This image was taken with a Vixen VC200L, with a QHY8 camera on an EQ6. It's a stack of 25x10min exposures at f/9. Processed using CCDStack and Photoshop. The Trifid Nebula (Messier 20 or M20) is an H II region located in Sagittarius. It's an unusual combination of an open cluster of stars, an emission nebula, a reflection nebula and a dark nebula. Viewed through a small telescope, the Trifid Nebula is a bright and easily observed object, making it a perennial favorite of amateur astronomers.
