Vela SNR (Portion)

Not imaged this before until now, and wow, honestly the Ha and OIII emissions are unbelievable and so very different. When I combined this bi-colour image I had to go back and check the master OIII and Ha frames to verify. Sure enough, in the top right there was dense Ha nebulosity, and no OIII apparent, and exactly the opposite in the lower left. Consequently, you have this incredible result. This was a real joy to put together.

http://www.martinpughastrophotograph...SNRPortion.jpg (3mb)

15 hours all up, bi-colour Ha and OIII.

Thanks for looking.
Martin

That's beautiful!!
The filament structure is so fine it's like spider webs. what setup are you using for this great image?

Very nice Martin. 15 hours is a good amount of exposure. Going the long hours really pays off.

I imaged it almost identically to that with a very similar result some time ago. STL11/FSQ106 combo. They go together well.

Greg.

Amazing and inspiring. Suspect there is a great deal of processing skill concealed in that final product too!

I've seen similar shots - though yours is almost certainly the best. Viewing this through blue/red glasses is really disconcerting cause the blue/red are completely different, not just offset.
Cheers,
Cam
