That's a great mount and a bargain Chris, that would go very nicely with an AG10, 12 or 16 actually....

Are you selling the pedestal too..? I have fond memories of that, modeled my pedestal on it even!

Hi Mike

Im holding onto the Portable pier for now.

This would easily take an AG12 or AG16.

I am pricing it to sell so fingers crossed someone needs a precision AP900 equivalent mount for near G-11 money.

You wouldn't swap it for a G11 hey? Bargain indeed. I would keep it if I were you.

Marc

I already have a G-11 as my field mount

Which is why I am finaly selling this. As I now have the Paramount Mx.
It is a arelative bargain but I guess still expensive so we will see. I dont need to sell it so wont be giving it away.

Do you have a suitable pier for it for sale, or be able to recommend one?
Their site says the mount is no longer supported, do you know if spares are still available?

While its not officialy supported, Larry Myers is still making the very large Mountain Instruments and will help anyone who needs it.

Having said that all the electronics and motors and gearboxes are from Losmandy. They Use the G-11 Gemini system so you can allways get spares.

The rest of it is built like a tank and is unlikely to need any support.

As far as piers go Im not 100% sure. My pier is not for sale, but any pier with 8" diameter or more should do. Quite a few threads here about Piers.

Hi Marc,

So this means I could fit Maxxon motors and Gemini to the mount? Let me know.

Cheers,

Steve

Steve

Not sure if you mean me ?

Yes you can fit Maxxon motors. In fact last model they made shipped with them. The mount already has Gemini system attached included in the price. But it does not need Maxxon motors. This things has 7.5 inch RA and DEC gear and precision matched worm. PE with standard Losmandy motors is excellent.

Hi All,

The dream mount is back on the market after the fastest "backout in history" I was planning to zip down from Wollongong on the weekend but plans all fell through.

Apologies again to cventer.

MI250 price drop

I have decided my unreasonable emotional attachment to this mount must be severed. Pointless sitting in my shed

$4200

Cheaper than a g-11 now folks with nearly twice capacity and accuracy.
