Deep widefield 31st

Hi Everyone,
Seems like forever since I posted anything on IIS.
But comet fever has got the best of me (which is a good thing)
I am very glad we didn`t stay at the relatives place to new years eve or I would have missed a lot of the show. Have been imaging Lovejoy every 2nd night since boxing day.
This one took a lot of work to remove the skyglow/haze gradient, but worth all the work!
Stack of 26 x 2-1/2 min at iso 800 with Canon 40D and 24mm lens at f/4.
Lost some of the fainter details removing the gradient but I think it has come out rather nicely. Still looks nice even at only 1200pix..

Keep on snaping away guys and gals as I have been really enjoying the posts!
cheers Gary

A beautiful image in its own right, processed to perfection. With Lovejoy in there it's extra special though

Great stuff. I'm trying to finish mine. I didn't get as much color and signal as yours and trimmed the head a bit but will still try to use yours as a reference. Very cool.

Thanks Malcolm, Humayun, ( I know I shall try to get a few up again!)
Lester, Batema, Dave and Dave, Carl, Rob, Trent_Julie, JJJ, Mark and Scott!
We have had some real clear nights lately which have really helped to get deep. I am amazed at how quicky Lovejoy is fading. But still makes a nice image..
Thanks again and clear skies everyone!
