I hadnt done much in the way of galaxies, but these were in good position last night and they were also in my "window" between the house and trees. It was quite windy and I lost 3 10 min subs, so this is 6 10 minute subs at iso 400. Im just starting to bring the outer arms out which I am happy about, will have to see if I cant add subs later.
I put in my order for collimation tools today, so im eagerly anticipating the arival of them. At f4 with no adjustments since the scope was delivered im betting its out by quite alot.
Good one, some interesting details in the central inner parts of the arms as well, Nice going Peter ? A little noisy in areas but the overall data is pretty good !
Alway good to hunt down targets, so, Nice find considering trees ect !
The noise is my only gripe with the image, and in hindsight I probally should have gone with 5 minute subs to reduce the noise. I am also waiting on delivery of my shutter controler so total exposure time of my images will sky rocket. More subs and precise collimation in a few weeks and we will see what this baby can do.
Also Peter, reduction of sub time to 5 minutes wont really help you either. Its thermal noise that your seeing. My observation was when the ambient temp was >10 deg C noise would start coming to a tolerable level, around zero and it was not bad at all. above 20 pull the camera off and enjoy the night sky with eye pieces!
