The Big Pineapple closed?

We just had friends return from a holiday in QLD and they tell us the Big Pineapple has shutdown! Chains across the gates, etc. A local worker said they'd had a couple of owners but nothing has eventuated.

Any IIS local can tell us more? What will this do for the 'big icon' industry?

is still alive and kicking in Ballina

But the big prawn is almost history as bunnings have purchased the property and its plans prolly don't include a sunbaked crustaceon.

Maybe it is about to be reborn as per the newspaper articles. A few weeks ago I heard the new owners of the property talking on ABC radio. Seems they bought the place for a song and we may see it up and running at sometime in the future.
