Solar Flare 040811

Hi,

Pulled out the coronado PST to view the Sun this afternoon. I'm no expert on the Sun, but I think there were 2 bright solar flares. By the time I got my Canon 450D one had faded but managed to capture the other. Both reminded me of a filament in a turned on light bulb. Lovely to see them evolve.

Details - Coronado PST; Canon 450D; hand help shot at the eyepiece (17mm Plossl); exposure 1/125sec; sharpening in Photoshop CS5.

regards,

Richard J
