meade .33 focal reducer on a C9.25"

I have been experimenting with a meade .33 focal reducer on a C9.25" and
found that at the recomended distance of 30mm the reduction seemed less than expected , whilst at 50mm it was about right. Could this be due to the unusual mirror F ratios in the C9.25" compared to other SCT's????
