Orientation suggestion constellation shots

Hi,

I have modified a cheap mounts I had with my old SEBEN junk scope and converted it to a mount for my DSLR using lense only captures.

Although only an idea I am considering taking shots of constellations and last night captured 20 light frames 20 darks of the Orion constellation. For such a low star population constellation I found it difficult to align the colours properly with DSS, so I used GIMP to make some changes. I have some very hi rez images which I hope to place on my gallery site but have an interest in displaying the image orientated as I see them in the sky from my location.

2 images attached, one is a test orientation then other is the constellation on its side.

Any suggestions would be great.

1 idea is I may consider taking multiple shots around the constellation and mosaic them, then crop them but the clouds started to come over before I had a chance.

Shots taken 450D at 40mm ISO 800 @ 60secs per shot. I am considering a library of constellations just for the fun.
