That maybe so Tony, but as the couple of Finnish guys who came in 2003 said "When we observe at home it can be -20 deg, BUI WE DON"T SLEEP IN -20 DEG!!! We go to town and buy some warm blankets!"

Three words "No Central Heating"

PayPal is checking us out that we are not laundering money for the Russian Mafia. We haven't publicised it too much as we want to get PayPal back up and running.

Cheers

Why on earth would you be sleeping during the night????
I'm up all night at the scope and sleep during the warmth of the day.

Oh my gosh, I just saw your pics of ice. I was planning on coming to my first star party.. but I cannot do it now. Just can't. Uh ah. Nope. Oh sheeez. I'm walking away from the computer now - sad and forlorn with a tear welling in my eye and a lump in my throat.

Oh, don't let a little frost scare you off Suzy.
You only really feel the cold if you sit still for too long. Most of the night we're wandering around, from scope to scope, looking through them for comparison. And on the imaging field, seeing what's being captured through some pretty amazing equipment.
You can take a break in the dining hall, have a nice hot cuppa, some conversation, then go outside and do it all again.

You won't regret coming Suzy. Even if it does get cold. And while it looks chilly, it seems that we only get 1 maybe two mornings like that. And Jeanette has hit the nail on the head. You wander and chat and look and eat and drink warm drink. Its a great time. And if it gets too cold there are plenty of dew straps onsite that work a treat around the ankles and wrists.

Oh! and the night is only half the Astrofest. Much happens during the day as well
