More lotus macros: flower and fruit

Hi all,

Here are some more images of the lotus in our garden, taken earlier this morning before the breeze came in. All taken with the 50mm macro on the Pentax K100D, tripod mounted, using aperture of f/22. The first 2 shots are of a flower that opened for the first time this morning, and the last 2 are a fruit that's a few weeks old.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Beautiful flower. Probably just my eyes but the first one looks a little underexposed.

Thanks Adam and Liz!

You're right Adam, I was intentionally underexposing to avoid washing out the detail in the petals, but I probably went a bit too far. Here's another version with the exposure increased by 1/3 stops (and the saturation increased a bit as well).

Cheers,
Stephen
