Exclamation Celestron Ultima Eyepieces *** now 60% off ***

I am selling my Celestron Ultima eyepiece to raise funds for a zoom eyepiece. Astronomy Online sells the 7.5mm and the 12.5mm new for $259 each and the 35mm for $350.

The eyepieces are like new and yours for 40% of the new price.

Postage is possible, I am in Newcastle (2300).

These are about as good as plossl style eyepieces get.
A nice upgrade for those looking to upgrade from GS or series 500 plossls

No those are all 1.25" EP's.

I've got a 30mm that is my main widefield EP - very sharp all the way to the fieldstop even in my F5 10".

In the following S&T review comparing ten sets of different brand Plössl or similar design eyepieces, the Celestron Ultimas came out on top, on a par with TeleVue Plössls:

Alan MacRobert and M. Barlow Pepin, "Your Basic Eyepiece Set", Sky & Telescope, April 1996, pp. 38-43.

I have a copy of the above article. If you're interested in having a read of it to help make up your mind, feel free to PM me. I would have jumped on this deal a couple of months ago but after the lingering excitement of my recent galaxy observing experiences I'm thinking about jumping on the wide-field bandwagon...

I've tried the 5mm version of this eyepiece, and for me the eyerelief was just too small with a tiny lens to look through, had to squash my eyeball against the lens to get a proper look.

But at longer focal lengths it sounds like a great performer.
