Time and space

Sometimes you can be in exactly the right place at the right time.

Kudos to Calsky for making this image possible

I reckon Calsky is an excellent online resource!

Thanks Al! I had hoped the ISS would occult Jupiter, but it was really "hauling ass"... as a good friend of mine would say...and only appeared in 2 of 300 frames

SKYnyx 2-2, 12 fps on a AP155 for those interested in the technical details.

Hah.. Very nice indeed!

I caught the same sort of shot about a month ago, although at a 70mm focal length it did not have the same impact

Kudos to you sir! A very rare image indeed.

Brilliant! That's unreal. I saw the ISS too and how close it was passing to Jupiter, what a great capture.

Nicely done!

Thanks to all for your comments. I was not sure whether to track the satellite and hope to snag Jupiter or go the other way around.

I was surprised however how fast the ISS moves when doing a zenith pass.
Even with quite brief shutter speeds it showed trailing. None the less I was happy to catch it in the same field !

I've had a little spare time to process the .avi file a bit more.

The ISS has been "de-blurred" just a tad with CS3's smart sharpen motion filter. Same URL
