Canon 400D for Astrophotography

Just thought I'd inform anyone interested in getting the Canon 400D for astrophotography that the DIY serial cable used for long exposure photography that's being used for the Canon 300D and 350D does actually work with the 400D. I made myself one this weekend and tested it and it works like a charm.

However, what doesn't work sadly is DSLRFocus. Apparently the drivers for the Canon 400D are different to those being used by the 300D and 350D. As such you'll have to use another program for performing focusing and timed exposure sequences such as MAXDSLR and DSLR Shutter.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks for the info. Do you know whether there will be any driver updates which will allow the use of DSLRFocus with the 400D?
