Made it back safely from the USA!

Hi All,

Just a quick note to announce my return from the USA...my family and I returned safely yesterday morning.

The kids had lots of fun visiting relatives and also seeing Disney World and Kennedy Space Center...lots and lots of pictures to sort through...

Now on to the task of moving house (starting today)....so it will be a few more nights before I get to sleep in my own bed...I can not wait.

Cheers All...hope to get back to viewing soon

Welcome back to the fold.

I can't think of anything more stressful in normal life than doing a bit of globetrotting and then immediately moving house. You are indeed a family obsessed by itchy feet. Good luck, I hope the move is smooth.

Did some astro-goods happen to make their way into your baggage for the trip home?

I was going to keep my mouth closed for a few days about this but since you asked...

Yes, a few things "fell" into my luggage before I left...between Santa and his elves I got a few things astronomical...with the move it will be a few days (weeks) before I will likely be able to try them out...

I got:
a Denkmier binoviewer (Big Easy version)
a set of Denkmier 21 MM eyepieces for the above
two Omega Optical/DGM filters (I may have a filter or two to sell after I do some comparing with my current set)
a Howie Glatter "Blug"
a couple of new red flashlights (headlamp and "shaker" light)
a couple of books (S&T pocket atlas, Sue French's new Book)
A telrad marked Messier Object book from SkySpot...still waiting for delivery

They should keep me busy for a while...I hope (and bring some needed rain).

Clear Skies!

Moving is an absolute joy!...not

No, we are not moving far...just from Roseville to East Lindfield (semantics mostly) expect it to be pretty much the same just a 3 minute add on to my commute.

My employment contract got extended (a good thing) and my previous landlord had his overseas assignment come to an end and needed his house back...so we had to scramble and find a "similar" place nearby...of course we learned all of this after we had our holiday planned and booked!!!

Anyway it is loads of fun!

Good to see. I travel to Sanfrancisco every couple of years and I find the thought of new purchases to be a nice distraction from the horror and expense of that dreadful flight across the Pacific.
