Thanks Mick ,the light polution in Bankstown really sucks! being new to imageing I found out very quickly that theres a huge learnig curve and you realy dont know anything about mounts till you have to stick a camera on them, but you know, you still have little bits of joy when something half decent comes up on screen!

Sorry to hear about the water problem with your scope Louie, by the way. Sounds like you have some leads now to sort it out, though.

Where do you go for dark skies out your way?

Do you stay over for the night? What's the accomodation like? Somewhere a group of Iceinspacers could link up at for a night of viewing, then crash?

I'm always thinking ahead....

Thats a great idea ! you stay at a farm house full amenities ! prices are great " 85.00 for two people per night 15.00 for each extra person then free for the extra people after that ! so It wont cost much at all if theres a few of us going down . just bring food for the barbecue !
You would have a ball.

Maybe on the other side of winter we could make some plans...meet up on the Saturday, a bit of socialising, and a bit of serious work on the scopes? I'd be keen. Might even drag the family along.
