C14 +FT+Hyperstar+G11 - $6000

Now is sold.
*sigh*

[EDIT to add Feathertouch focuser]
Up for sale is my C14 XLT, Grey tube, The Latest C14 Hyperstar, and G11 mount with Ovision Worm.
Total new would be over $12,800, selling it for less than half that, $6000.

Quote:
New Prices:
C14 Andrews $6999
Feathertouch Micro focuser USD$290 + Post
Hyperstar USD$1399 (AUD1606) + Post + GST
G11 $3500 approx?
Ovision $600
Scope has original box and accessories, the G11 has a pair of wooden custom-made travel cases and enough counterweights to manage the C14 with ease. The G11 has the Ovision worm for ultra-accurate tracking. The Ovision has way tighter tolerances than the original or 'high-precision' Losmandy worms.

The scope is in immaculate shape, as is the Hyperstar, which lets you image at f1.9 for super-fast imaging. Has had the Feathertouch Micro focuser fitted as well for ultra fine focus control, great for planetary and high magnification work.

Can deliver as far as Penrith, or the Blue Mountains for petrol money. Will be heading to Nelson Bay at Christmas and might be able to fit it in if required.
Photos will go up tonight. Can throw in a planetary eyepiece to get you started

Also going under the hammer later will be the Starlight Express Adaptive Optics, Lodestar guide camera and OAG, Filter wheels and filters and planetary camera.

I've had a good offer for the OTA and Hyperstar, but at this stage would like to sell the scope, mount and Hyperstar as a complete unit.

Nothing to stop anyone buying it all and splitting it up themselves of course. I won't be offended

Hi Peter, I am pondering purchasing this but am in NZ. Do you have the boxes etc to ship, - if you would be interested in shipping to NZ? I could have it collected from you by a freight company. Not absolute at this point, am testing the waters to see whether it is possible from your point of view at this stage. regards, John

Hi Peter,

Tried to message you but your inbox is full.

I'm keen on the Lodestar you may have for sale. Let me know when the time comes ... I'm in Kandos ... easy!

I'm aiming to replace the SSAG on my QSI 583wsg.

Cheers!

Mike.

I do have shipping boxes for the mount and the C14, the Hyperstar is in a pelican case, so it could also readily be shipped.

Sorry to everyone for the backlog of replies I need to work through, life has gotten in the way, I should be back on deck next week to answer questions, get photos up etc.

Hi Peter, Just wondering how you're travelling. Your PM inbox is full. Is the C14/G11 sale still going ahead?

Yes, the sale is still going ahead, I am working through all the responses now, there has been a *lot* of interest, and unfortunately I have had to be away from home for my own health, and when I got back had to set out again on family matters unexpectedly. (My brother's baby was born prematurely, and I have been travelling to and forth more than expected)
I took some photos of the OTA today, and have uploaded them to the first post, will snap shots of the mount and Hyperstar and upload those as well.

As for questions re it fitting into a sedan, I used to take it out in the field in a 90s model Toyota Corolla if that is any indication.
The mount is great as each of the tripod legs detach completely and separately, so it is easier to transport than most other mounts that have the three legs permanently attached to a base plate. It breaks down into manageable chunks that can be stashed in the car.
If you have a larger vehicle or ute, the tripod and mount can be transported in the custom wooden travel cases.

I can deliver it as far as Bathurst or the upper blue mountains for the cost of fuel.
