How much difference does a dark site make?

The wide field shots I take in my back yard in suburban Brisbane peak at mag 10 stars. How much lower could I expect to get at a dark site out of the city?

I found that there were too many things to look at, didn't know where I was because there were so many stars.

For widefield photography, it makes a HUGE difference. Much richer clusters and dust clouds in the milky way.
