solution is fine, i still like ordinary windex, & zeiss lens wipes
when you mention unscented tissue are you talking about blow your nose tissue? i avoid, seems rough like it would scratch coatings, i finish with breath & soft lens cloth
I have a case full of Kimwipes...but they have been relegated to cleaning all things other than optics. (it is true, they don't leave debris)
They do contain random pieces of grit. So, if you want to scratch your optics use Kimwipes.
All I can say is NEVER again. (I learnt the hard way )
Acetone and plain white Kleenex is indeed recommended by AP.
Tissues=cheap Lenses=expensive
One wipe per tissue. Go through the
whole box and it will cost you.... what....$3.00?
My AP optics cost just a little more
Compressed Dust-Off aerosol for the debris. As Con the Fruiterer would say " Beeeaaaudiful..."
Just as Kleenex contain grit - ask me how I know that too and use Kimwipes, as we did exclusively with microscopes costing as much as AP's
I have found Kimwipes flawless actually - not once scratching anything. These are KimWipe KIMTECH science wipers, not some of the lesser grades. Where I worked for Medical Micro research, not a chance of using anything else on microscopes - we would have been castigated and castrated.

I still have many boxes of them. I note that Kimberly-Clark have updated the product code and name...but my experience has not been a good one.
I have yet to see a brand name plain white Kleenex scratch/sleek a lens.
I won't use Kimwipes for optics ever again...others can make their own choices.
A lot of lens cleaning solutions are just 50/50 alcohol and distilled water. At least, I know that's what they use on their $50K lenses over at Panavision.
Has anyone seen a Tissue under high magnification , looks like a sheet of razor blades
I use microfibre cloths from OPSM ( $5 ) and if surface is smeared from oils I use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol with the microfibre. The cloths are washed in distilled water with a tiny drop of dishwashing liquid and dried indoors
Obviously a hurricane blower is used first to remove dust etc...
My 2 cents .......
i will only use kimwipes if they are soaked in something, never dry..strangle got some with a sublime leica microscope i used for a short while, now that thing had a buttery focuser
Alco wipes 70/30, after a lens cloth dust-gently, then another very gentle wipe with lens cloth, these are coated optics after all.
same with dslr sensors.
I use pec pads, soaked in solution (isoP +- distilled water +- windex)
Hans, i think the Bintel solution will be fine, just not really needed, and more inconvenient when you can buy everything else from a local pharmacy or bunnings.
Peter, I can understand losing confidence in a product after your experience. But the renegade piece of grit just as likely came from the aerosol blower/ rocket blower/ impurity in a solution or solution bottle, or just randomly settled from the environment.
I stopped using an aerosol blower and just use an ordinary rocket blower to get stuff off first.

I have used dozens of boxes of plain white Kleenex (name brand only) to clean optics over the years. Routine is the same, blast with dust off (to remove any grit) one wipe with
isopropyl (or acetone) quickly followed by a wipe with a dry tissue. Remove debris with dust off. Never got a sleek.
After using just a handful of Kimwipes, using the above, I was shocked to see a sleek. Thought it might be a "one off" but after a second event (and fresh box of Kimwipes) concluded it was systemic....and forever banned them from my touching my optical gear.
