The Curse of h0ughy

I thought our LP was BAD where we live, with the airport lighting, the LED street lighting, the inane path lighting all through our complex using 200 watt bulbs, and the Las Vegas glow of Queanbeyan (Canberra is dull compared to QB - actually, Canberra and dull...hmmm. Pun intended!). And now I heard the "best" news I could ever possibly hear...

Bunnings Fyshwick is moving to the old Master's warehouse, a mere 1KM as the crow flies away from me at Majura Park.

Bunnings and it's stupid balls on a pole things and searchlights.

Gulp. The Curse of h0ughy.

Just FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTASTIC! I guess I'll need to stack 3 LP filters now...

Narrowband is your salvation! Save broadband for dark site trips. Cheaper than moving.

Nope, not for me. I dislike the aesthetics of NB imaging, so will stick with RGB/H-a, warts and all.

Maybe NB mapped like RGB, but not Hubble or other palettes.

It’s time to stop DSO and time to go multiple star systems and clusters

Mate, the skies down here are pretty darn good. Nothing but bush to the south and surrounded by hills to the east and west.

Don't know how you can live with all that light Lewis, astronomy wise or anything else for that matter.

I'm approx. 40k from Canberra city and 25k from Queanbeyan and in total darkness. wouldn't swap that for anything.

That sucks Lewis. They're building a massive shopping complex just 200 metres to the west of me. Looks like I'm doomed too.

We had horrid LP to start with. This just exacerbates an already craptacular situation.

Might put in a petition to demand them to turn their lighting off at night.
