Leon,

Simply ? - No

I think you need some encryption software
About 1024/2048 bit encryption would be about right !
You encrypt and decrypt the file each time you want to access it.

Are you trying to hide it from a casual observer or a professional ?

One way is to use for example a MS Word password, that would prevent a non technical user from easily reading it, but these can usually be cracked in a minute by anyone that knows what they are doing. . . or anyone with access to the internet who is intent on reading it !

I dont think there are any easy methods for decrypting 1024 to 2048 bit files just yet. Brute force will take a few times longer than the known life of the universe !

Whats in them anyway !!!

Development is discontinued and the home page on Sourceforge starts with an ominous message:

You can password encrypt a Word & Excel file(s) on your PC or on a USB stick. I guess thats the MS password Rally was talking about above. Maybe not perfect but at least some trouble for anyone trying to access.
Open the Document, go to File, go to Information, then choose Protect Doc (if Word doc) or Workbook (if Excel doc) then choose Encrypt with password. You will then have a password protected document.

You could also archive the files into a .ZIP type format and password protect the Zip file.

Leon:

Download and install KeyPass on the USB Drive. There's a "portable" version of the program.

Once installed, you can have creatae a database with a Master password to get into the program.

In the database, enter the website, username and password for all the sites you want to visit. You can catagorize them, and sort them as you wish.

The program can also store perrsonal information. I use it to store all my families passport numbers, SSN and banking details.

Download the "portable" version, currently 2.33

OIC!

And?

Though development of TrueCrypt has ceased, an independent audit of TrueCrypt has concluded that no significant flaws are present.[8]

Alternatives include two freeware projects based on the TrueCrypt code, VeraCrypt and CipherShed, as well as numerous commercial and open-source products.
