Comet Lovejoy - the view from home.

Maybe Comet Lovejoy will make imagers of all of us, of sorts . Here is one of my efforts taken on the 29th Dec from home with my Canon 500D and 18-55mm kits lens on a tripod, single exposure 30sec f5.6 ISO 3200. Noise reduction and levels done in Photoshop. I never thought I'd be starting a thread in the astro images section of IIS, but this was hard to resist.

Great image Paddy!! Lots of stars there, and comet looks good. The work of a serious astro imager.

Great work Pat, I like the composition of that shot with the foreground and twilight.

Nicely captured Patrick, I'm surprised anyone is getting images, I looked last night and Lovejoy had disappeared in to the city nightglow.

Yeh Phil I could not see it either from home. But it was there on images I took, but I could not see it with the naked eye.

Thanks all. 'Tis especially wonderful to have one's images perused by the discoverer! It has certainly been a fantastic sight.
