Urgent Microsoft patch for XP/Win7 users
I know there are a number of XP users on the site. Microsoft have released urgent security for all Windows 7 and XP users.
Windows XP
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...-cve-2019-0708
Windows 7
https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en.../CVE-2019-0708
This has been marked as so critical that they have released patches for XP and Windows 2003 that have been out of support for 5 years.
There is proof of concept code already released and active variants are expected within the next couple of days.
This has been marked as "wormable" making it highly likely of a large scale strike.

Because 10 sux. Not all "upgrades" are upgrades.

"Because 10 sux."
In what way
Well I have used computers since CP/M and MS/DOS 3.3 and built computers since windows 95 and am just building a new gaming PC with my son, for him I add.
I did like 7 but I have never had any problems with 10 nor has my son and I use it for work, video editing, post processing and him for intense gaming
I also found even 7 had issues especially high end video work with Sony Vegas PRO and Adobe Premiere Pro

Hey Marc, or anyone for that matter...
Can anyone throw any light on which security patch to download for XP 32 bit Home Edition with SP3. None of the available descriptions seem to fit the bill.
Any help much appreciated

Didn't the link posted to Leon work? First entry. WinXP Sp3. I don't have home edition but I assume it should work.

There are always problems with drivers for older h/w when switching to new OS.
When I was working for NEC Australia, company never just jump in and start using new OS without throughout testing.. If I remember XP was allowed to be used 5-6 years after first rollout.
Personally, I still use DOS6.22 (for my Bartelized dob), w'95, XP and w'7 Pro, mainly because of back-compatibility (and MS licensing policies).
My next OS (if at all) will be Linux.

Hey Marc,
I didn’t try it because it’s for 64bit OS whereas Home Edn is only 32 bit.

Hi Paul,
The first link Is fit XPsp3 x86 which is 32bit.
32 bit was the default for XP, 64bit was the exception. It wasn't until Win7 that 64bit became the norm.
Here is the link repost for XPsp3 x86 https://catalog.update.microsoft.com...px?q=KB4500331
