Best Jupiter to date
Happy with this shot of Jupiter. Would dearly love a night of great seeing. If you have any to spare please send it my way.
12 inch Dob, ASI 120MC camera.

Very nice image for a dob, are you using an EQ platform for tracking.

Thanks Jeff.
I use a crossbow equatorial platform. Works well for planets and for deep sky.
I am very happy with mine.

Thanks Colin.
Jupiter is not easy to image well. I have had more success with Mars at opposition.

That's an impressive result for an EQ platform but I suppose for planetary videos of only a minute or two duration the tracking doesn't have to be of arc second accuracy. Think i feel a project coming on for one of my dobs.

Thanks Wes & Tony.
For me the images captured by Damian Peach are truly amazing.

Hi Richard,
The nights lately have been pretty cool and this image is even more so.
Really wonderful.

I had another go at processing the image and I have also added a shot I took with the ASNSW 16-inch scope at Crago Observatory.

That is superb, I wish I could have done that sort of imaging all those years ago, well done indeed.
