I mean valid email addresses (with or without a password) are collated into databases to be sold for advertising / spam purposes etc. Its a very common concept. All they need is a valid email address to send their junk mail to. Targetted spamming.

Additionally, by giving out a valid email address to an UNKNOWN site that claims to search the web for your passwords "for your security" has just given potential hackers your valid email account for them to try hacking - another well known style of soft-phish.

It appears the old "windows security" phone call scam is now obsolete. They're getting more creative and coming up with new ideas. I seem to miss out on all these calls and emails. Pity. I enjoy having a bit of fun with them.
