Zwo 2600 mc

Hi,

Well I bit the bullet and purchased a ZWO ASI 2600 MC, direct from ZWO. With the special it's 2300 AUD. Hopefully I can get around $1000 for my ASI 1600 MC Pro.

I hope it comes before XMAS but I am not sure they have them in stock as I think they are on backorder. After all I have read about this camera I am pretty excited and can't wait until it arrives.

Paul

Have you accounted for GST and import duty? That could add another $380 to the cost.

Paul
Congratulations on your purchase
A tremendous camera
Ive had mine 5 months now and the crappy weather is so frustrating at the moment , can’t wait to get out there and image with it again
Be aware it’s a beast of a camera 90mm in diameter and weighs 720gm, you really have to secure it firmly in the focuser
Good luck and enjoy !!

Hi Paul,

The weather is really a pain, though if it breaks the drought I guess we just have to accept it. I am going West over Xmas so maybe I can dodge a few clouds. I didn't realise how big it was until I saw a review on Youtube, compared to the old CCD's though its not so big.

I am the Paul (One of them anyway) If you get anything like the kind of results I am seeing from mine you will be very happy with it. It is a very easy camera to shoot with and calibrate the output of.

I hope so Paul.

Well, ordered it on Saturday, on backorder from ZWO, notified on Sunday that order was fulfilled, DHL SMS this morning, left China, arrived Sydney at 4.30 this morning.

It's awaiting customs clearance, if they let it through, sweet! If not then them's the breaks

Cheers

Even if you do have to pay GST etc on it you will be still hundreds better off than I am. I have not tracked the exchange rate but they are about $600 cheaper now locally than when I bought mine. Thems the breaks, I have been enjoying it since late July. The ASI6200 has come down by hundreds too and I might have been tempted to jump on one of those instead, my bank balance thanks me for not doing that.

The camera arrived today, around AUD 2,450 landed. Got here in 4 days and sailed through customs

Hi Paul,

ASI6200 is really big bucks, I would have to get a lot better at imaging and processing before I could justify that to myself.

Cheers

I faffed around for two months between the 2600 and 6200, but if I went to the 6200 it was going to be Mono, so at least triple the cost of the 2600 by the time it was ready to use. I spent the difference on a second mount.

Thinking of getting a 2600MC from ZWO directly.
As mentioned, even if I have to pay import charges and GST, I'd still be under the cheapest local price of $3,199

What currency does the ZWO website quote in? Is it USD or does it change depending where you are from?
