First H-Alpha Sun for 2012

Hi All

Got the Lunt LS80Tha scope and DMK41 camera out on New Year's day. Seeing was average but slow enough to get some reasonable data. This was my first attempt at combining prominence data and surface data and I think it came up well. Enjoy.

Thanks Mark

It was done as a single stack. I find the double stack somewhat problematic with some uneven patches or streaks that have to be carefully managed with tuning and post processing.

Thanks Arek, agree it hits a sweet spot especially when used with a 2X barlow as in this case.

That is an extraordinary result what a prominence group to get, a good omen for 2012.

Thanks John, just a bit of luck in that checked in and saw the nice combination after midday. Agree that we could be in for an active year!

Thanks Derek. Yes I'm keeping an eye out for some views as soon as the weather settles here in Sydney.
