Comet Lovejoy from the Sunshine Coast

Taken this morning from between Peregian and Coolum. A glorious morning for a walk along the beach.

17-40mm @ 17mm, 40 sec @ ISO3200, Canon 60D

Thanks folks, it was nice to be out doing some imaging again, especially on such a great target.

Chris, F/stop was f/4 and no post processing except ICNR and a single contrast adjustment in PS

Thanks Nettie, I'm hoping to make a better shot at it tomorrow, weather permitting. I'll know how to set bulb on the new camera now so I wont be as pushed for time.

No Dave, its the lights from Coolum being diffused by surf spray. The surf has been 'thumping' the past few days. I haven't really seen seen the surf but I've heard it, from a couple of km away from the beach.

Oh and don't I love it Dave. Only thing I would give it the thumbs down for atm and that's the selector dial lock. You have to press a button down before you can re-select Av Tv P and the rest of the creative modes. But the flip out rotatable screen more than makes up for that. And now i understand what jjj raves about with live view focus.
