moonlite focuser control

Hi

I went to use this controller tonite and found it no longer worked with my Meade LX90 10"

it still turned the focuser a very small amount each way but the controller started to get very warm even when not being used, the on lite flickered and was a bit dim, I get the feeling there's a short within the controller

the focuser itself is a nice bit of engineering and I'd like to keep using it

anyone know of a basic controller or replacement unit that might work, only needs to have forward - reverse + speed control

the current one takes 3 AA batteries but I'm not sure of the voltage
maybe it could be repaired but I have my doubts

any help appreciated
Bryan

Pierro-Astro

I contacted Pierre Franquet last year and he said his MP0020 stepper controller works with Moonlite motors

Maybe contact him to see if it can be adapted to your old-style Moonlite motor.
