CGEM vs EQ6 mount, pros and cons of each?

I've been offered a new Celestron CGEM mount, the same one that Andrews have for $2199 for $1400, which is about the same as I could purchase a new EQ6.

Is there any advantage with the CGEM, or any other gotchas I shlould now about with either?
In the short term I'll be running a C8 OTA and a York Optical ED80 with a Nikon DSLR, longer term, who knows, but I'd like a mount that gives me options down the track.
Cheers

-Pete

the any star polar alignment in the CGEM is a big plus. In general the CGEM software is superior, but if you use EQMOD with your EQ6 there is apparently not that much difference

at that price I would happily trade in my EQ6 for a CGEM , but that's me, others may not agree

Thanks for the feedback, I didn't want to go with the CGEM then find out I'd made a terrible mistake.
