Good choice to get the 18-105, otherwise you end up changing lenses all the time. 18-105 suits most situations except sports.
Let me know when your gear all gets there, and we will keep an eye on the weather, if it looks like a clear week sometime I'll send you the lens to have a go with.

Camera and lens and flash arrived today whoo hoo!!
Now just got to learn what all the knobs and buttons do!
