Black and White Cat ('s paw)

Ha channel from my current project to collect data on NGC6334, the Cat's Paw Nebula. 23 x 1200s subs in Ha with Astronomik 6nm filter. I think that this one presents nicely in Ha and provides some good detail in the nebula. I've been staring at it too long because I am starting to see all manner of critters lurking in the nebula and floating off into space

Superb image Rodney. Tiny stars, sharp detail, and excellent processing.

Some great tone & detail there Rodney.
However, the blacks seem just a tad clipped and the framing is excruciatingly tight at the bottom.
Some more space below would allow the subject some breathing room.
I look forward to seeing a colour version if it's planned.

Thanks MnT and Andy. Yes a colour version will be happening. I'm proposing to collect a full set of broadband and narrow band data. On the framing side Andy, I wanted to also capture the nebulosity in the top right hand quadrant as well. This may mean clipping the cat's toe nails in the process (apologies for bad metaphor ).

Cheers,
Rodney.

Wow, great Ha Cats Paw Rod, nice and deep. I kinda like the composition actually, has a sense of a dive bombing stunt aircraft complete with fake smoke...

Many thanks for the feedback. I trust that the upcoming new moon will be kind to allow the continuation of data collection. I like your dive bombing aircraft analogy Mike and in fact I can see many shapes lurking in the haze. Just for fun I have cropped a few out and attached. You will see the Munching Dragon, the Scary Monster and the Giant Ant.

Superb image Rodney - I really like how you managed to show fainter and brighter parts simultaneously without making the object look flat. And such pinpoint stars!

Thanks for that Suavi. Presenting the Ha channel individually can be quite satisfying.
