Antennae Galaxies

Another new moon weekend come and gone. This time went out to Watts Bridge with the SEQAS group. Fantastic weather as always with cool weathers with minimal dew and fog. I was surprised how well the ZWO mini guider worked at guiding 1600mm FL. To be fair I was only doing 2 minutes exposure but still!

Nice one, Tony. Beautiful rich colour.

I'm working on this one at the moment too... nice to finally have a good run of clear skies in SE QLD!

How have you found the seeing down there? Up here near Kilcoy it was ok when it cleared up on Saturday night, but got worse towards the dawn... and last night was a shocker, some of the worst I've seen. I decided to just capture RGB for colour and hope for some better seeing over the next week given the forecast is for mostly clear skies.

Can't complain about the skies at Watts Bridge. It was clear all throughout the night without a single sight of a cloud. Stars were pinpoint without any shimmering and the temperature stayed above the dew point until around 3am when everything just got drenched.

Nice! Gotta be happy with that then.

Yeah, dew's a real problem here too, fog as well... as winter takes hold the fog gets progressively worse until the point where it's fogged out by 9-11pm
