Chicken runing from clouds.

The Running Chicken or IC 2944.
Conditions cloud every five minutes so over three hours managed only 60 15 second subs. No need for guiding as the guide stars were not available..I would have to delete up to 15 subs..managed only 6 red out of 30 or more same for everything really..so ran gain at 500 which is way beyond anything I would expect a result..however I was not going to come inside with out something..stacked the lot and had a little play but not much to work with so I have not been serious really..colour I have no idea...took a lot of darks but somehow stuffed it up as I changed the image size when experimenting and forgot to re set it...I still have huge oval star problems and had to crop a great deal..whats left is bad but you should have seen what I had to remove.

It looks good for tonight but so did last night

Thanks for the kind words.
Scope 80mm triplet on heq5.
Having another go at it now..60 seconds unguided and 500 gain for ha...seems to be working ok...focus is near perfect.
Nice night but had a big day and can hardley walk so it will be interesting to see how long I hold out.
Hopefully some clouds roll in and get me inside...such talk appeals to the Cloud God such that to make me suffer he will keep me out here☺ ..please send some clouds ..reverse psychology.
9 minutes in nine minutes beats last night where it could be 15 seconds in half an hour.
Anyways things to do must go.
Thanks again.
Alex

Thanks Ryan.
I had a better run last night..rather shuffle..strangley my feet feel so hot it is a pleasure to walk around bare foot on the cold wet grass even in winter.
The electric focuser was excellent cause I could remain seated except for putting on the mask...
Cloud saved me at 11 pm but cleared after I took my darks and basically packed up...but I just could not continue..so copped out and went to bed...only after starting my first stack of course.

Alex
