My version of Orion

Afternoon all,

Here's my version of Orion and has been a while since I've done the whole process and sorts, slowly working the bugs out again.
I wasn't too concerned about blowing out the core as my aim was to get the gases around.

Set up used was:

RC8 with reducer set at 88mm with 80mm piggy back guider
EQ6
PHD2
SGP and APT
Stellarium that Martin put me onto, with a few curse words at the beginning
DSS
Star Tools 1.4 as I'm not use to the 1.7 version as yet
and finally a little Lightroom to adjust some colours.

Thanks for looking

Karl

Karl,
Great effort on M42 , a nicely framed image and focus is spot on
Well done !!
Colour is washing out your detail a bit particularly the reds ( in Startools did you use Artistic Aware in the colour module, as Scientific tends work better on galaxies not bright Nebula )
Also do you have the later EQ6 or EQ6-R mount with the USB2B socket or the older type with just the RJ45 handcontroller socket
I did write 2 different versions of Ascom Stellarium telescope control ( in fact 3 versions ) for Skywatcher mounts
1/ One using the old Stellarium Scope driver and older RJ45 handcontroller socket using an EQ Direct cable ( Shoestring or similar)
2/ One using new Ascom Stellarium with new mounts with USB2 socket using a standard USB2B to USB2A cable
3/ One using new Ascom Stellarium with older mounts with RJ45 Handcontroller socket using an EQ Direct cable ( Shoestring cable or similar)

Maybe you picked the wrong one that’s why you had trouble ???

Looking forward to the next image
Cheers
Martin

With Star Tools I'm trying to remember what I use to do, the new version isn't like the older and gives a huge difference in the outcome. I was lucky enough to have an older version to use to familiarise myself to the working of it. I didn't want to go over the top with the reds or blues, all good, thank you for your input. Will see what happen with the next one, a nice clear night up here tonight.

Stellarium issue was me not ticking all the boxes and restarting the program that was pretty much the issue haha it works well with SGP and APT in regards to platesolving and syncing.
MY mount is direct feed into laptop, I can't remember the last time I used a hand controller.

I can't open it.
It is most likely that your image is too large to upload.
I had the same with the first one I tried.

Wow Karl, looks like a shiny piece of Opal. Wild colours but very pleasing on the eye :-)
