2222 Posts - A reflection on IIS

Well its been a bit of a theme recently for a landmark # of posts EG: 3333 etc , well it's 2222 for me
When I think back to post #1 it was at a time when it was hard to get good info online about astronomy in Australia. It was Cloudy nights, or the "Buying your first telescope" page & little else, until Mike made this great leap forward and bought together so many people in what is now a community. ISS was vital as I gathered info for the founding of Gove Amateur Astronomers in 2002. Almost 12yrs on and I am about to take my Business NightSkySecrets onto the national stage (well its on IIS so I guess it already is !)
Anyhow, thanks for everyone here who makes the ongoing journey of astronomical discovery so much fun & satisfaction for me to this day, IceInSpace you rock .

IIS certainly provides a unique window into amateur astronomy in Australia and offers a connection to others that would be more difficult to achieve otherwise, even for read only members.
