I haven't officially named my scope but while building it it got many different names which I cannot repeat on a healthy forum like this.

I used to think of my scope as being a woman.....but as it can only do one thing at a time, I am reliably informed by my wife that it must be a bloke....which would also be consistent with the fact that it has three legs (one leg is very much longer than what is usual in its homo sapiens cousin).

Also, the fact that astronomers boast that their scope's "aperture" is bigger than someone else's also lends weight to scopes being male.

I'm with Ken, I call it the scope. If there is any ambiguity, because I have a smaller scope, I call it the "big scope". Pretty lame, huh? But it works amazingly well! Personifying inanimate objects is probably not one of the signs of good mental health.

Hooray, it's been moved to 'General Chat'! Now we can ramble on.

Hi Steve, how ya goin'. G'day David, hows your cow mooing? Hey Tony, any ideas on a new scope yet? Hey Laurie, how is the weather up there? Are you enjoying your new scope Mombat? Geoff, had any luck with the street light problem? G'day to all the Western Australians, and South Aussies, Hi Tom and others in Tassie and a big HELLO to our Kiwi friends.

That will do for now.
