luna saturday morning at 98% with friends

Moon from early Saturday morning when it was 98% lit waning . it was a tad hard to fit on the asi183mc chip. Only a 43% clarity with seeing according to Autostakkert3.

Not perfect but pleasing
Williams optical 132 FLT refractor and ZWO ASI183mc pro camera. Captured in ASIStudio, processed with Autostakkert3 and registax6 then into PS to fix size and herb superb.

edit - I also did a small run on Jupiter and saturn. i can honestly say over my entire imaging lifetime i have never been able to do this - i tip my hat at those who get great scale and detail.
i did NGC104 after the planets so i had a busy night

Hi David
The moon shot is lovely and crisp and the others are, as you said, quite pleasing, a rewarding nights imaging.

thanks, they are the best planet images i own LOL and can count on one hand how many times i have tried. i must admidt that jupiter is a composite of thee same image - to get the moons up i had to blow out the planet, to the keen observer there is trickery afoot....or not.....

Excellent image of the (almost) full moon - I'm intrigued with how you were able to get so much detail in the full face. Normally when I try to image the full moon, the highlights are blown out and there's very little detail, whereas in yours the craters are well defined and still sharp.

Any tips on how you were able to do this?

You probably need a 2x Barlow to image the planets with your 183MC to get you to f14, now's the best time to image them!

Thanks, I posted this on another thread

i have found that it can take several minutes, even up to 30min to get sharp focus, i normally zoom in on the edge and craters, and zoom as close in as possible then try and focus to resolve the smaller features. i have taken to doing a region of interest and getting the fastest frame rate as possible to zoom in on and focus. once i have that then going full frame the hard part is done. the other is the moon moves even though we select lunar rate. i actually manually guide on a crater for the length of time needed to get 2 or 3 thousand frames. Anyway just my experience for how i fill in my time...
