What's new from TEC

Looking over the TEC facebook site Yuri has revealed that he is toying with a TEC140 binoscope using EMS Matsumoto units..all mounted on a Panther TTS160-Alt-Az mount.

He has also mentioned a TEC160 version

Very nice indeed. I estimate landing price for the 140 bino inxs of 25,000 AUD. Wondering if a larger aperture single telescope within the same budget would be more attractive to most folks and if it would show more. Anyway, this will remain a theoretical debate, for me anyway LOL

I thought the APM folded optics approach was the way to go for large aperture APO. That tube is just silly.

So impractical and can you imagine the tube currents it would generate?

I propose that governments start subsidising astronomical equipment with the aim of benefiting humanity.
