Grus Quartet

Too restless to sleep so... Found some data on my hard drive of the Grus Quartet that I forgot about from September last year. I probably wanted to add to it but got clouded out.

The Grus-Quartet consists of four large spiral galaxies which are relatively close to each other. Distance is estimated to be between 55 and 70 million light years.

GSO 10" F4 Newtonian, full spectrum modified Canon 1100D, 419 x 30 seconds unguided.

Thanks M&T! Yes it's quite galaxy busy in the background.

Thanks Colin! It needs more 30 sec subs. About 700 - 800 more but the clouds didn't let me. It's been a terrible summer for astro here. The roof of the observatory will get stuck in the covered position. I might have to roll it off to free it up.

Been meaning to try this one for YEARS. You've inspired me to try - hopefully tonight.

Well done.
