12” Skywatcher collapsable GOTO & WiFi dobsian

12” goto skywatcher dob.

Includes skywatchers wifi module for use with the app for easy tracking. All you need is your phone, point and click alignment. Takes about 1-2 mins and you’re good to go.

Includes 10mm, 25mm and 2x Barlow eyepieces and spotter scope.

Also the portable power pack I made to go with it.

It’s a big fun scope.

$1500

Shipping ~$100 to any major city. Depot to depot.
I have the Box the it’s came in. Base is a flat pack.

The primary and secondary mirror are spotless. Not a single mark or scratch. (Unit was in storage for about 3 years and was used a couple of times before being packed away because I moved for work) took it out about 6 months ago and have been loving astrophotography but time for an upgrade to an EQ mounted OTA that’s more compact.

Also, I had Tasco service the base when I took it out of storage

Perth, Western Australia

All good lol added another moon shot I just finished processing with it. I need to work on getting my focus and exposure time right. Was using a dslr. The raw file looks 100x better than the <200kb jpeg lol

Also - photo of the lens. I’ve been real busy. The ‘marks’ on it are reflections coming in from light and the tube. The mirror is as smooth as the day it was bought.

Nice Newtonian Dob you have there mate. Is this setup for AP? If so do you just add a longer truss configuration? How does the top section handle a DSLR with flex and all?
Cheers Justin

If you looking for good tuts for AP with a DSLR then Lonely Spec is a good start. For good software, BackyardEOS is a ripper.

I would be using it just for viewing. The refractor rig I have is a great AP set up.

I’ve been using it For AP as is. It does a pretty dam good job.

I haven’t noticed any flex when taking photos at all. I used remote shutter and timers and the images come out perfect. I try to take photos early/late and the dslr I’m using weights 200-300g so pretty light. So before rotation becomes a major issue and in class 1 sites. But I need to upgrade to a eq Mount to take it to the next level
