glacial NBN

For several days now I have been experiencing internet speeds around 1/20th
of my usual speed, around .8 to 1.2 mbps. I am wondering if anyone else
in W.A. has the same problem, or if it is just a very local problem.

Hi Raymo,

What connection do you have, Fibre to Premises, to Node or Curb or Fixed Wireless?

Hi Malcolm, I have fibre to the node. I have had around 23mbps ever since
it was installed, this is the first problem.

Well, it is a technical issue, either with the modem or the connection. Depending on who you are connected to, support can usually integrate the modem and carry out first-order testing. One of the first things the will do is tell you to switch off and on the modem.

Hi again, thanks for the reply. I have just this minute done a speed test, and it is back to 23.9mbps.

Just something to be aware of. We normally get down speed of 24-25mbps and up of 5, which is exactly what we pay for for our FTTH service. A while back it suddenly went on a go slow, did speed tests and it had dropped to 3-5mbps down and under 1 upload. Spoke to provider, did all sorts of tests. Finally worked out that I had updated one of my laptops with a new SSD drive and had decided to shift all the data off the old drive onto my main computer. In the background, Windows decided to mirror that data to the One Drive cloud (well I had tried to not have that happen but must have made an error) and the transfer upload was clogging up our system. My own fault but it runs in the background and is a PITA!!
