Can anyone tell me why the price of a Sony A7s in America is $2498 which is $3214 here in Australia, I just recently purchased one here in Australia (Melbourne) for $2050 which is $1594 US, approx $900 cheaper.

You got a good deal, I just got one from a shop in Sydney for $3k with the 35mm.

When I was researching it over the last few weeks I never saw it for more than around $2500 from Australia.
I've also noticed that the Sony lenses are significantly cheaper here in Oz than in the states - compare the prices on B&H to any retail store here. For example B&H has the 35mm for USD$798, whereas Paxtons and DigiDirect have the same lens for AUD$749 - and that's retail in store.
I guess Sony is trying to push the A7 range here pretty hard.

Awesome camera too

My Sony A7s arrived back from America after being modified for Astro complete with 95 percent cloud cover and 2 cyclones off the Queensland coast.

There's a mathematical equation somewhere for that... Something like bad weather is proportional to the amount spent!!
