Corona Australis widefield

From a series of images (with more to come) using a widefield 250mm setup.

Canon EOS R camera.

It looks quite good widefield as you can see the extent of the dust cloud.

Is that lights only Greg?

How does the EOS R compare to other FF cameras you've used?

Nice. The dust stretches out of field.

Humm...some much good stuff going on there...but the highlights are totally blown out. Back them off a tad and you'll have a ripper image

Yes no darks or flats or biases.

Very well. Its a mirrorless so its quite easy to use with its interfaces and nice touch screen. Its lowish noise perhaps not Sony low noise but pretty good. No star issues with it which is becoming rarer and good colour.
No colour speckle in the shadows as well. A winner.

Thanks.
I'll have to go back to the RAWs as the latest image won't correct the blown highlights. I'll do that.

Greg.

Thanks Pete. It is an interesting area. Also the dust plume is quite vast.

Any idea of the image circle? Would it "cover" M/F digital you reckon?

The Redcat 51 has an image circle of 42mm for a full frame sensor. A "medium format" like a Fuji GFX50 would have trouble in the corners.

Thanks Tim. A bit of lens widefield imaging mixes it up and creates a different look.

Thanks Greg, and after I asked I checked the blurb for the RedCat and found that, I should have looked first.
Moot anyway as I am finished with M/F and back with the Sony system.
Contemplating a RedCat as we speak. Your stunning shot has only added fuel.

Thanks Gary.

I think its good bang for your buck and I am happy with mine. I got a tilt/tip adapter for it but it wouldn't come to focus with it installed. I'd need a thinner one. I will probably just pack out any weak corners like I do with my other gear.

Greg.
