Where to stargaze north Brisbane

I was just wondering where a good place to see stars with naked eye within 3 or so hours from North lakes would be? Even when and what time? Just in case you haven't guessed i have no idea! If someone wouldn't mind helping me out.

G_Day Josh, 3-4 hours away from north lakes would take you nearly to Gladstone.
There a few places you can go within 2 hours of where you are.
Go upto the Glass mountains area or out to Howell Knob just outside Maleny
on the Kenilworth road, google it for directions
Do you have any telescopes or bino's?
Somerset dam area or anywhere west of were you you are should be fine.
Cheers
